Creating an active pathway along some under-utilised space has proved to be a crowd pleaser at Klivington Grammar School

Active pathways in and out of the classroom

The Kilvington Run is a linear obstacle-style play element designed to encourage continuous movement across a sequence of play challenges. Within the school playground environment at Kilvington Grammar, it operates as an active pathway where students move progressively from one obstacle to the next rather than engaging with a single piece of equipment

The design promotes climbing, balancing and traversing movements that support coordination, strength and overall physical development. By offering varying levels of challenge, the run encourages students to test their abilities, build confidence and remain engaged in active play

Overall, the Kilvington Run delivers a dynamic, movement-focused play experience that complements traditional playground equipment and provides students with an appealing space to stay active and socially connected during breaks
