Australian playgrounds and outdoor fitness equipment face some of the harshest environmental conditions in the world, from tropical humidity in the north to salt-laden coastal air and intense inland UV. Rather than using a single generic specification, PlayCo selects materials for their resistance to UV exposure, heat, moisture and heavy use, matched to where the equipment will actually be installed.
Core materials
Our product range draws on aluminium, galvanised and stainless steel, and injection and roto-moulded plastics. Electro-polished stainless steel is a particular strength of ours, offering anti-corrosion performance that holds up in coastal and high-exposure locations. Fixings are specially made to be vandal-resistant, requiring specific tools to adjust, which helps protect equipment from tampering over its working life.
Manufactured in-house, not outsourced
Because PlayCo operates dedicated in-house facilities, materials are produced and finished under our own quality control rather than sourced from third parties. Our capabilities include:
- A dedicated ropes factory producing high-strength playground ropes using advanced joining techniques
- A dedicated timber factory manufacturing components to precise specifications for durability and finish
- A dedicated plastics factory using injection moulding and roto moulding for components with complex geometries
- CNC machining for precision fabrication of HDPE panels and timber decorations
- In-house powder coating for a consistent, durable finish suited to Australian conditions
